Projects

Projects are the core unit of organization in Overcentric. Each project represents a distinct website, product, or environment that you want to track.

What is a Project?

A project in Overcentric is a container for all the data related to a specific website or product. Each project has:

  • A unique Project ID used for integration
  • Its own analytics dashboards
  • Separate session replays and error logs
  • Independent chat conversations and help center content
  • Customizable Dock settings

Common Project Structures

Organizations typically structure their projects in one of two ways:

Multiple Products

If you have different products or websites, create a separate project for each:

Organization: Acme Inc.
├── Project A: project-a.com
├── Project B: project-b.com
└── Project C: project-c.com

Multiple Environments

If you want to track different environments separately, create a project for each:

Organization: Acme Inc.
├── Project A: production
├── Project B: staging
└── Project C: development

Finding Your Project ID

Your Project ID is required for integration. You can find it:

  • On the project’s Setup page
  • In the project settings

The Project ID looks like this: abc123-def456-ghi789

Project URL

The project URL is the domain of the website or product that you want to track. It is used to identify the project and to prevent data from other domains/projects being tracked and mixed up.

Overcentric expects that your marketing website and product have the same hostname, eg. example.com for:

  • Marketing website: https://example.com
  • Product: also at https://example.com or https://app.example.com or https://example.com/app

When creating a new project, you enter the root domain of your website or product, eg. example.com.
